Introducing Dan: Celestial, a comprehensive and challenging level system created for osu!mania 4K players of all skill levels. From beginners to the top players, this dan system aims to provide progression and a testing ground to assess their skills through various levels of difficulty. With 7 unique tiers and 35 stages, players will be challenged to demonstrate proficiency in a wide range of skills.

Rules

Clear Criteria / Judgements / Video Requirements

To pass a course, players must achieve an accuracy of 97% or higher in osu! stable. In higher tiers, the clear conditions are divided into two categories: Easy Clear, which refers to passing partial maps of the course, and Hard Clear, which requires completing the full course. Especially in the higher tiers where completing the entire course becomes more difficult, this distinction enables players to track their progress more precisely.

It is not necessary for users to finish maps consecutively within a course, making it possible to evaluate players with different skill levels more fairly. Map lengths are generally longer to test endurance and stamina, ensuring that players should sustain performance over time. Because of this, pausing is not allowed.

Additionally, settings that significantly reduce map difficulty, such as Easy, Half Time, and No Fail, are prohibited. Random is also disallowed, as it can disrupt the intended patterns of the map.

Singularity tier — liveplay video requirements
  • Livestream video with handcam
  • Livestream video with keyboard sound
  • Recorded video with handcam + monitor cam + analog clock

Discord live is also allowed if the keyboard keysound is recorded.

Patterns

Celestial Classification

Notes that are tapped quickly without holding are called rice notes, while notes that need to be held down and released at the correct time are referred to as long notes (LN, also known as noodles).

A single note refers to hitting one key at a time. A jump refers to hitting two notes at the same time. A hand refers to hitting three notes, and a quad refers to hitting four notes.

Stream

Maps where finger alternation occurs, such as patterns like (1 2 1) or (2 3 4).

↓↓

Jack

Maps where finger repetition occurs, such as patterns like (1 1 1), (1 [12] 1), or ([34] [24] [124]).

Tech

Tricky patterns created by a combination of both stream and jack.

Stream Categories

Streams are further categorized into jumpstream (JS), where jumps form the base of the pattern, and singlestream (SS), where single notes form the base of the pattern. Jumpstreams are classified from low density jumpstream to high density jumpstream depending on the note density. Singlestreams are classified from low jump singlestream to high jump singlestream depending on the number of jumps in the pattern.

Special patterns

  • Minijack SS Singlestream patterns where a jack occurs in the middle of the stream, requiring the same finger to press repeatedly at intervals.
  • Broken JS Jumpstream patterns where a row is completely empty at certain points, forcing players to alternate between hitting and not hitting notes.
  • Polyrhythm stream A stream pattern where the rhythm is not consistent, requiring players to hit notes in various rhythms.

Jack Patterns

Jack patterns can also be classified based on their density. When there are multiple notes being hit simultaneously, this is often referred to as chordjack (CJ) to emphasize the presence of chords. These patterns are classified from low density chordjack to high density chordjack based on how many notes are played at the same time. If there aren't many simultaneous notes, the pattern is referred to as a minijack.

Special patterns

  • Anchor Jack One finger repeatedly hits the same note, while other fingers play notes in sync with the music (e.g., 1 [12] 1 1 1 [12] [12] 1 ...).
  • Jackhammer 1 to 4 fingers are used to repeatedly hit notes (e.g., [12] [12] [12] [12] [13] [13] [13] [13] ...).

Tech Patterns

In the case of Tech patterns, they are named based on the predominant pattern within the tech. If chordjack patterns make up the majority, it is called jack tech. If minijack patterns dominate, it's referred to as minijack tech. If stream patterns are most common, it's called stream tech, and if polyrhythm patterns stand out, it's referred to as polyrhythm tech.

Lastly, if a map contains a variety of different patterns and cannot be classified under a single type, it is referred to as mixed rice.
